Strength for Stella

1 Rep Max Deadlift Competition 

Come join us for a fun Deadlift event with yard games and good times to follow! Proceeds for the event will sponsor Stella’s cancer surgery and treatments. 
 
Stella is a 2 year old French Bulldog who has had a rough start in life and needs your support so she can continue to bring smiles and french kisses to all who meet her. Her human is part of the team at MASS Strength and in need of financial assistance as she aims to provide the best care and treatment to Stella as possible.
 
Event vendors will include:
  • Chef Nick of KiTHCen fueling our gains with soul food!
  • Church St. Brewing Co.  amping us up with the best Cold Brew around!
 
Our strong and talented friend Molly Malone will be snapping professional photos of the event! 
Come lift or watch - each and every penny counts! Rain or shine! Dogs on leashes are of course welcome too!

Fundraising

Sponsor can either make a charitable gift of a set amount of money or they can pledge to pay a certain amount per pound lifted. Example: $0.10 (dime) per pound lifted.

If a sponsor pledges to give a lifter $0.10 per pound and the lifters heaviest deadlift is 700lbs they would owe $70, which will be gifted towards Stella's treatments.

Awards

We will award the most weight lifted in Male & Female: Youth, Open and Masters categories!

There will also be an award for most sponsors, so get your fundraising on!

At the event we will have a plethora of raffle prizes from local event sponsors as well as a a custom made GYM DAWG's Calendar raffle, starring your pup!

Meet Day

Here is how a deadlift only meet is run if you are not familiar:
  • You get three attempts to deadlift on the competition platform!
  • For the first attempt, people tend to choose a weight they can do somewhat easily on any given day but still a challenge!
  • For the second attempt, choose a weight you can do 1-2 reps of!
  • For the third attempt, choose something that is the heaviest weight you’ll lift that day, usually a personal record or maybe something you've never lifted before.
  • Of course, everyone has their own meet day strategy so pick whatever works for you!
  • The entire flight will last about 20-30 minutes and then after you can grab some food and watch the rest of the meet!
